NWilliamsburg, Brooklyn
Williamsburg, Kings County Last in Census Response

Via press release today, The Mayor’s office announced the percentage of census forms that have been returned by both neighborhood and county. To nobody’s particular surprise, both Williamsburg (31.3%) and Kings County (42%) are dead last in their respective categories. New York County came in first with 54%, but the top neighborhoods were both in Queens; Oakland Gardens (62.4%) and Ft. Totten (62.9%).

The Mayors office is attempting to reinforce via twitter that these numbers could have bad consequences for The City. They further state that personal information won’t be shared, and that the city loses about $30,000 in federal aid per person that goes uncounted.
